At American First Field, Sandy, Utah:
Jefferson Savarino ( 19'), Rubio Rubin (48'), and Bode Hidalgo (82') each scored once as Real Salt Lake clinched a berth in the upcoming MLS Cup Playoffs by throttling the visiting Portland Timbers 3-1 in Sunday's Decision Day match as the regular season closed for both clubs.
Dairon Asprilla scored the Timbers' lone goal at 87 minutes.
The Timbers will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and for the first time since 2014 someone other that Portland or the Seattle Sounders will represent the Western Conference in the MLS Cup Final.
