Timbers Blanked At Home By Philly


Daniel Gazdag (5') and Sergio Santos (48') each scored once as the Philadelphia Union blanked the Portland Timbers 2-0 on the road in Sunday in Major League Soccer action.


A second-half goal from the Timbers' Sebastian Blanco was disallowed after a video review.


Philly's Andre Blake put in a shutout performance in goal.


Padres Complete Road Sweep Of Giants


At Oracle Park, San Francisco:


Three doubles and a triple from Manny Machado propelled the San Diego Padres (27-14) to a 10-1 road fistbeating of the San Francisco Giants (22-18) for their first sweep at Oracle Park since 2016.


NBA Playoffs:  Warriors One Win Away From Finishing Off Luka, Maverics


At Dallas:


Stephen  Curry scored 31 points and dished out 11 assists on Sunday as the Golden State Warriors held off the Dallas Mavericks 109-100 on the road in the third game of the NBA's Western Conference Finals, which the Warriors now lead three games to none, with a chance to close it out on Tuesday in Big D.


Andrew Wiggins added 27 points and eleven rebounds to the Golden State coffers.


Luka Doncic topped the Mavericks with 40 points while grabbing eleven boards.


Spencer Dimwiddie added 26 points while Jalen Brunson added 20 to the Dallas coffers.


Stanley Cup Playoffs: Lightning One Win From Sweeping Panthers; Rangers Cut Into Canes' Series Lead; Oilers Take 2-1 Series Lead Over Flames


The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued with three games on Sunday.


EASTERN CONFERENCE:


At Tampa, Florida:


Nikita Kucherov had a goal and three assists as the Tampa Bay Lightning took a three-games-to-none conference semifinal series lead after their 5-1 game-five home victory over the Florida Panthers. 


Andrei Vasilevskiy saved 34 of 35 shots.


At New York:


A goal and an assist for Mika Zibanejad carried the New York Rangers to a 3-1 game-three home victory over the Carolina Hurricanes that cut the Canes' series advantage to two games to one.


WESTERN CONFERENCE:


At Edmonton, Alberta:


Evander Kane's second-half hat trick lifted the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-1 game-three home victory over the Calgary Flames and a two-games-to-one conference semifinal series advantage.




Stanley Cup Playoffs:  Ligtning Close Out Sweep Of Panthers; Avalanche Up 3-1 Over Blues


The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued with two games on Monday.


EASTERN CONFERENCE:


At Tampa, Florida:


Pat Maroon and Ondrej Palat (empty netter) each scored once while Andrei Vasilevskiy put on another superlative performance, stopping all 49 shots for the shutout as the Tampa Bay Lightning  blanked the visiting Florida Panthers 2-0 to complete a four-game conference semifinal series sweep of the President's Trophy winners.


WESTERN CONFERENCE:


At St. Louis:


Nazem Kadri produced a hat trick as the Colorado Avalanche doubled up the homestanding St. Louis Blues 6-3 in game three of their series, which the Avalanche lead three games to one.


Colorado can close out the series with a game-five victory in Denver on Wednesday.




NBA Playoffs:  Easy Win For Celtics Who Square East Finals With Heat At 2-2


At Boston:


Jayson Tatum scored 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds on Monday as the Boston Celtics leveled the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals with the Miami Heat at two games apiece after having coasted to a 102-82 home win in game four.


Victor Olapido came off the bench to lead the Heat with 23 points.


Mets Stretch Giants' Skid To Five Games


At Oracle Park, San Francisco:


An early three-run homer from Pete Alonso enabled the New York Mets (29-15), who collected 18 hits on manager Buck Showalter's 66th birthday, to make mincemeat of the sliding San Francisco Giants (22-19) 13-3 as the hosts suffered their fifth successive defeat.
