Liverpool were looking for their seventh crown, which would have tied AC Milan for second most.

Jimmy Butler scored a playoff-career-high 47 points (while grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out eight assists) on Friday night as the Miami Heat upended the homestanding Boston Celtics 111-103 in game six of the NBA's Eastern Conference Finals and squared the series at three games apiece.

Jayson Tatum scored 30 points (with nine boards) while Derrick White (off the bench) added 22 and Jaylen Brown 20 to top the Celtics.

The NBA Finals' opponents for the Golden State Warriors will be decided on Sunday in Miami.
