Brad Marchand scored once and assisted twice as the Boston Bruins cut the Carolina Hurricanes' conference quarterfinal series lead to two games to one following their 4-2 home victory in game three.
At Tampa, Florida:
Jack Campbell saved 32 of 34 shots while Morgan Rielly, Colin Blackwell, David Kemph, and Ilya Mikheyer (two empty netters) each scored as the Toronto Maple Leafs held off the homestanding Tampa Bay Lightning 5-2 in game three of their series, which the Leafs now lead two games to one.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
At St. Louis:
Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek each had a goal and an assist as the Minnesota Wild dominated the St. Louis Blues 5-1 on the road in game three of their opening-round series, now led by Minnesota two games to one.
At Los Angeles:
Evander Kane delivered a hat trick (his first in a Stanley Cup Playoff match) while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman each scored twice as the Edmonton Oilers gummed up the Los Angeles Kings 8-2 on the road to take a two-games-to-one series advantage.
NBA Playoffs: 76ers, Mavericks Get Win In Respective Series
The NBA Playoffs resumed on Friday with two games.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
At Philadelphia:
Joel Embiid returned from injury to score 18 points and grab eleven rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers cut the Miami Heat's conference semifinal series lead to two games to one after their critical 99-79 home victory in game three.
Danny Green and Tyrese Maxey each scored 21 points to lead the Sixers.
Jimmy Butler lead the Heat with 33 points while grabbing nine boards.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
At Dallas:
Jalen Brunson scored 28 points while Luka Doncic came close to gaining a triple double (26 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists) as the Dallas Mavericks overpowered the visiting Phoenix Suns 103-94 in game three and cut their series deficit to two games to one.
Jae Crowder topped the Suns with 19 points.
Wolves Gain Road Draw With Chelsea
At London:
In Saturday English Premier League action, Francisco Trincao (79') and Conor Coady (90'+7) each scored a late goal as Wolverhampton Wanderers came from two goals down to gain a 2-2 road draw with Chelsea.
Romelu Lukaka scored both of the Blues' goals (PK-56', 58').

Daizen Maeda (30'), Kyogo Furuhashi (37'), Matthew O'Riley (69'), and Giorgios Giakoumakis (90') each scored once on Saturday as Celtic all but locked up the Scottish Premiership title (and a berth in the group stage of next season's UEFA Champions League due to UEFA's ongoing ban on Russian clubs) by dominating visiting Heart of Midlothian 4-1.
