Europa League: Rangers, Frankfurt Advance To Final


The Europa League's semifinal round concluded on Thursday with two games.


At Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow, Scotland:


James Tavernier (19'), Glen Kamara (24'), and John Lundstram (81') each scored once as Rangers defeated visiting RB Leipzig 3-1 in game two and won their series 3-2 on aggregate.


At Waldstadion, Frankfurt, Germany:


Rafael Borre scored the only goal of the match in the 26th minute as Eintracht Frankfurt knocked off visiting, ten-man  West Ham United 1-0 in game two and knocked out the English club 3-1 on aggregate.


Europa Conference League: Roma To Face Feyenoord In Final


Two games were contested on Thursday as the semifinal round of the Europa Conference League came to a conclusion.


At Olympic Stadium, Rome:


Tammy Abraham scored the game (and series) winner in the 11th minute as AS Roma defeated visiting Leicester City 1-0 in game two and knocked out the Foxes 2-1 on aggregate.


At Stade Velodrome, Marseille, France:


A game-two 0-0 stalemate on the road was good enough for Feyenoord Rotterdam as the Dutch club ousted Marseille 3-2 on aggregate.


Roma will face Feyenoord in the May 25 final, set for Kombetare Arena in Tirana, Albania, with the winner heading for the group stage of next season's Europa League.


Rangers will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final at Ramon Sanchez Pizuan in Seville, Spain on May 18.


The winner will face off against the Liverpool-Real Madrid Champions League Final winners in the UEFA Super Cup and will qualify for the 2022-23 Champions League's group stage.


Cardinals Punch Out Giants In Frisco


Yadier Molina hit a home run on Thursday while Tommy Erdman delivered three runs batted in as the St. Louis Cardinals (15-10) hammered the homestanding San Francisco Giants (14-11) 7-1.

Artemi Panarin and Frank Vatrano each scored once and assisted twice as the New York Rangers leveled their conference quarterfinal series with the Pittsburgh Penguins at a game apiece after their 5-2 home win in game two


At Raleigh, North Carolina:


Aleksander Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe each scored and assisted once as the Carolina Hurricanes squared their series with the Washington Capitals at one game apiece after their 5-1 home victory in game two.


WESTERN CONFERENCE:


At Denver:


Cale Makar scored the winning goal at 8:31 of overtime as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the visiting Nashville Predators 2-1 in game two of their opening-round series, which the Avalanche now lead two games to one.


At Calgary, Alberta:


Joe Pavelski scored the game's only goal while Jake Oettinger saved all 29 shots as the Dallas Stars leveled their series with the Calgary Flames at one game apiece after their game-two road triumph.
