US Open Cup:  Timbers Under 23s No Match For Republic

Duke Lacroix scored twice (13', 35') as the Sacramento Republic of the second-division USL Championship destroyed the Portland Timbers' visiting Under 23 (from the fourth-division USL Legue Two) squad 6-0 in Thursday action from the second round of the US Open Cup soccer tournament.


Luka And Mavs Destroy Visiting Blazers


At Dallas:


A 39-point, 11-rebound performance from Luka Doncic on Friday propelled the Dallas Mavericks (51-30) to a 128-78 demolition of the visiting Portland Trail Blazers (27-54) in NBA Play as they assured themselves of home-court advantage in an upcoming Western Conference quarterfinal series.


The Blazers have now lost ten straight games and 20 of 22 since the All-Star Break.


They will close out the season hosting the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
