'Twas A Rough Sunday For Timbers, Blazers, Devils
At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon:
Javier Chicharito Hernandez scored twice (6', 59') as the Los Angeles Galaxy held off the Portland Timbers 3-1 on the road in Major League Soccer action.
Bill Tuiloma scored twice, scoring an own goal in the 16th minute while scoring the lone Timbers' goal in the 51st minute.
Both teams were reduced to ten men each as the Timbers lost Pablo Bonilla to a straight red card (45'+3) while the Galaxy's Mark Delgado was ejected at 61 minutes after picking up a second yellow card.
Meanwhile.......
At Newark, New Jersey, Jean-Gabriel produced a hat trick as the New York Islanders downed the homestanding New Jersey Devils 4-3 in NHL action.
And, finally......
At San Antonio, Texas, Kelson Johnson scored 28 points as the San Antonio Spurs overcame an eight-point halftime deficit and overpowered the Portland Trail Blazers 113-92 to complete a four-game season-series sweep.
Keon Johnson and Ben McLemore (off the bench) each scored 19 points to lead the Blazers, who have now dropped seven games and have gone 2-17 since the All-Star Break.
THOUGHTS
Here's another persuasive argument against mask mandates.
There's more woe for Tony the Quack.
