Stanley Cup Playoffs: Lightning, Islanders Close Out Respective Series; Wild Force Game Seven With Knights

 Three games were contested as the Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on Wednesday.


CENTRAL DIVISION:


At Tampa, Florida:


Patrick Maroon, Steven Stamkos (power play), Brayden Point, and Alex Killorn (empty net) each scored once while Andrei Vasilevskiy saved all 29 shots as the Tampa Bay Lightning smothered the visiting Florida Panthers 4-0 in game six and ousted their cross-state rivals four games to two.



EAST DIVISION:


At Uniondale, New York;


Brock Nelson scored twice as the New York Islanders outlasted the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins 5-3 in game six of their series, which they won four games to two.


The Islanders will take on the Boston Bruins in the East Division final, the first playoff meeting between the two teams since 1983.




WEST DIVISION:


At St. Paul, Minnesota:


After 40 scoreless minutes, Ryan Hartman, Kevin Fiala (power play), and Nick Bjugstad each scored a third-period goal while Cam Talbot saved all 23 shots as the Minnesota Wild blanked the visiting Vegas Golden Knights 4-0 in game six of their divisional semifinal series.


The series, now level at three games apiece, will conclude on Friday at Paradise, Nevada (6:00 PM Pacific Time, NBCSN) with the winner to take on the Colorado Avalanche in the West Division final.
