The NBA Playoffs continued on Wednesday with three games.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
At Philadelphia:
Joel Embiid (who grabbed seven rebounds) and Ben Simmons (who pulled in nine boards and dished out eight assists) each scored 22 points as the Philadelphia 76ers overpowered the visiting Washington Wizards 120-95 in game two of their conference quarterfinal series, which they now lead two games to none.
Bradley Beal topped the Wizards with 33 points.
At New York:
Derrick Rose came off the bench to score 26 points as the New York Knicks won a playoff game for the first time since 2013 by overcoming the visiting Atlanta Hawks 101-92 in game two of their series, now squared at one game apiece.
Trae Young paced the Hawks with 30 points.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
At Salt Lake City, Utah:
Donovan Mitchell scored 25 points while Rudy Gobert added 21 (to go with his 13 rebounds) and Mike Conley 20 (while dishing out 15 assists) as the Utah Jazz, with seven players, including all five starters, scoring in double figures outdistanced the visiting Memphis Grizzlies 141-129 in game two of their conference quarterfinal series, now deadlocked at one game apiece.
Ja Morant topped the Grizzlies with a franchise-record 47 points while Dillon Brooks added 23.
