Four games were contested on Sunday as the Stanley Cup Playoffs' opening round continues.
CENTRAL DIVISION:
At Nashville, Tennessee:
Luke Kunin scored his second goal of the game at 16:10 of the second overtime period as the Nashville Predators picked up their second double-overtime victory over the Carolina Hurricanes, this time by a 4-3 count at home as this divisional semifinal series is now deadlocked at two games apiece.
EAST DIVISION:
At Washington:
Patrice Bergeron scored twice as the Boston Bruins closed out the Washington Capitals 3-1 on the road in game five of their series with they won four games to one.
NORTH DIVISION:
At Winnipeg, Manitoba:
Nikolaj Ehiers scored twice (once on the power play), his second goal being the game winner at 9:13 of overtime as the Winnipeg Jets overcame a three-goal deficit and defeated the visiting Edmonton Oilers 5-4 in game three of their divisional semifinal series.
The Jets, now up three games to none, can close out the series with a game-four home victory on Monday (6:45 PM Pacific Time, NBCSN).
WEST DIVISION:
At St. Louis:
Brandon Saad, Nathan MacKinnon, and Valeri Nichuskin each scored a power-play goal (the aforementioned Mr. MacKinnon and Mr. Nichuskin scored their extra-man goals in empty-net situations) as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the St. Louis Blues 5-2 on the road and completed a four-game sweep of their opening-round series.
