SPORTS:
Gonzaga (26-3) picked off the top overall seed on Sunday in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, set to open on Tuesday. The Zags will open in the West Region on Thursday in Portland against the Georgia State Panthers (18-10).
Arizona (31-3), Kansas (28-6), and Baylor (26-6; defending national champs) picked up the other #1 seeds.
Along with Gonzaga, two other West Coast Conference teams are going dancing, namely Saint Mary's (25-7) and San Francisco (24-9).
UCLA (25-7) and Southern California (26-7), along with the Wildcats of Arizona, are going dancing as well.
The Montana State Bobcats (27-7) of the Big Sky are going too.
Meanwhile, it's the National Invitational Tournament for the Oregon Ducks (19-14; they open on Tuesday at Logan, Utah against the 18-15 Utah State Aggies) and The Basketball Classic (successor to the now-defunct CollegeInsider.com Tournament) for the improved Portland Pilots (18-14; they'll open play against the 18-13 New Orleans Privateers).
Meanwhile, in Sunday action from France's top soccer division, at Strasbourg, France, Alexander Djiku's goal in the 23rd minute carried Strasbourg to a 1-0 victory over visiting AS Monaco.
Also on Sunday, at Wals-Siezenheim, Austria, in the Championship Round of action in the Austrian Bundesliga, Maximilian Wober scored the game winner at 55 minutes as league leading FC Red Bull Salzburg defeated visiting Sturm Graz 1-0.
In Brussels, Lior Refaelov converted a 55th-minute penalty kick for the game-winning goal as RSC Anderlecht defeated visiting Royal Antwerp 2-1 in Belgian First Division A play on Sunday.
Also on Sunday, in Swiss Super League play, Leo Bonatini's own goal in the second minute pushed Grasshoppers further into a relegation battle as they fell to FC Lucerne 1-0 on the road.
