In the quarterfinal round of the Pac-12 Conference Men's Basketball Tournament at Las Vegas on Thursday, Evan Battey scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the fourth-seeded Colorado Buffaloes (21-10) held off the fifth-seeded Oregon Ducks (19-14) 80-69 to effectively end the Ducks' NCAA tourney chances.
Quincy Guerrier led Oregon with 25 points while taking down 13 boards.
Arizona, UCLA, and Southern California also advanced to Saturday's semifinal round.
Khalid Thomas scored 20 points on Thursday as Portland State Vikings (#7 seed; 14-16) became the only remaining Beaver State team with a shot at The Big Dance after their 77-65 victory over Southern Utah (#2 seed; 20-11) in quarterfinal-round action in the Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament at Boise, Idaho.
In English Premier League action, Raul Jimenez opened the scoring in the 13th minute as Wolverhampton Wanderers snapped their three-game league losing skid by demolishing visiting (and relegation-threatened) Watford 4-0 on Thursday.
Round of 16 play in both the Europa League and the Europa Conference League reached its' respective midway points on Thursday.
