Stanley Cup Playoffs: Lightning Oust Hurricanes; Knights Take 3-2 Series Lead On Avalanche After OT Win In Denver

 The Stanley Cup Playoffs continued on Tuesday with two games.


CENTRAL DIVISION FINAL:


At Raleigh, North Carolina:


Brayden Point (power play) and Ross Colton each scored once while Andrei Vasilevskiy saved all 29 shots as the Tampa Bay Lightning blanked the Carolina Hurricanes 2-0 on the game five of their series, which the Lightning won four games to two as the defending Stanley Cup champs advanced to the semifinal round.




WEST DIVISION FINAL:


At Denver:


Mark Stone scored the winning goal 50 seconds into overtime as the Vegas Golden Knights overcame a two-goal deficit and upended the homestanding Colorado Avalanche 3-2 in their divisional final series.


The Golden Knights, now up three games to two, can knock out the Avalanche with a game-six victory back home at Paradise, Nevada on Thursday (6:00 PM Pacific Time, NBCSN).
