FIFA World Cup Qualifying (CONCACAF-Second Round): Canada, El Salvador, Panama Take Series Openers

 The second round of CONCACAF-regional qualifying for next year's FIFA World Cup commenced on Saturday with three games.


At Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis:


David Rugamas scored twice (3', 27') as El Salvador all but assured themselves a berth in the third and final round of qualifying by demolishing Saint Kitts and Nevis 4-0 on the road in their series opener.


At Port-au-Prince, Haiti:


Cyle Larin scored the only goal of the match in the 14th minute as Canada took the opening contest of their series with Haiti 1-0 on the road.


At Panama City, Panama:


Cecilio Waterman scored the winning goal in the 77th minute as Panama held off visiting Curacao 2-1 in the opening contest of their two-game series.
