Timbers Top Dynamo In Home Opener

 At Providence Park, Portland, Oregon:


Christhian Paredes recovered from scoring an own goal in the 28th minute on Saturday by scoring the winning goal at 73 minutes for the Portland Timbers as they picked up their first Major League Soccer victory of 2021 by defeating the Houston Dynamo 2-1 in their home opener.


Dairon Asprilla also scored for the Timbers in the sixth minute.


The Timbers will  host Mexico's Club America in the opening game of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal-round series on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM Pacific Time (Fox Sports 1).


Portland's next MLS contest will be on the road against FC Dallas on Saturday, May 1 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time (Timbers TV Network via KPDX, Portland-Vancouver/ESPN+).
