Two games were played on Thursday as the CONCACAF Champions League's opening round reached its' midway point.
At Managua, Nicaragua:
Gyasi Zardes scored twice (19', 33') as the Columbus Crew all but locked up a berth in the quarterfinals after demolishing Real Esteli 4-0 on the road in game one.
At Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic:
Vincent Janssen (32'), Arturo Gonzalez (42'), and Jose Alvarado (70') each scored once as Monterrey dominated Atletico Pantoja 3-0 in their series opener.
