FIFA World Cup: Morocco Knocks Off Portugal, Becomes First African Country To Reach Semifinal; France Keeps Its' Title Defense Alive

 The quarterfinal round of the FIFA World Cup concluded on Saturday with two games contested in Qatar.


A Thumama Stadium, Doha:


Youssef En-Nesyri scored the only goal of the match in the 42nd minute to carry Morocco (despite finishing the game with ten men) past Portugal 1-0 as they became the first African country to reach the semifinal round.


At Bayt Stadium, Al Khor:


Olivier Giroud scored the winning goal in the 78th minute as defending champion France defeated England 2-1.
