UEFA Champions League, Group G: Play Ends

 Wednesday was the final day of action in Group G of the UEFA Champions League as two games were contested.


At Etihad Stadium, Manchester, England:


Julian Alvarez scored the winning goal in the 73rd minute as Manchester City defeated visiting Sevilla 3-1.


At Parken Stadium, Copenhagen, Denmark:


Hakon Haraldsson's equalizer at 41 minutes lifted FC Copenhagen to a 1-1 home draw with Round-of-16-bound Borussia Dortmund as the Danish club bowed out of European competition.


Thorgan Hazard scored for the German club in the 23rd minute.


Final Group G Standings:


1. Manchester City (GP: 6; GD: +12; PTS: 14)

2. Borussia Dortmund (GP: 6; GD: +5; PTS: 9)

3. Sevilla (GP: 6; GD: -6; PTS: 5)

4. FC Copenhagen (GP: 6; GD: -11; PTS: 3)


Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund advanced to the Champions League's knockout stage; Sevilla were transferred to the Europa League.
