NLDS: Phillies, Padres Take 2-1 Series Leads, Can Advance To NLCS With Saturday Wins

Both National League divisional playoff series resumed on Friday.

At Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia:

Home runs from Rhys Hopkins and Bryce Harper propelled the Philadelphia Phillies (in their first home playoff game since 2011) to a 9-1 game-three fist-beating of the Atlanta Braves.

The Phillies, now up two games to one, can close out the series with a game-four victory at home on Saturday (11:07 AM Pacific Time, Fox Sports One).

At Petco Park, San Diego:

Trent Grisham smacked a home run while Blake Snell pitched five and one-third solid innings as the San Diego Padres, playing a postseason home game in front of fans for the first time since 2006, upended the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 for a two-games-to-one divisional playoff series lead.

The Padres can close out the Dodgers at home on Saturday (6:37 PM Pacific Time, Fox Sports One).
