Jeremy Pena's home run in the top of the 18th inning carried the Houston Astros to a divisional playoff series-clinching 1-0 road win over the Seattle Mariners.
The Astros, who posted the divisional round's lone three-game sweep, will have home advantage in the American League Championship Series against the New York-Cleveland series winner.
It would be Houston sixth consecutive appearance in the ALCS.
At Progressive Field, Cleveland:
Oscar Gonzalez hit a two-run single with two out in the ninth inning as the Cleveland Guardians overtook the visiting New York Yankees 6-5 in game three of their divisional playoff series.
The ex-Cleveland Indians, up two games to one, can close out the series with a game-four home victory on Sunday (4:07 PM Pacific Time, TBS)
