After a 2-2 regulation draw on Sunday (battling back from a 2-0 deficit in the process), Portland Timbers 2, with Dawson McCartney, Carlos Vivas, Jamin Gogo Peters, Julian Bravo, Selmir Miscic, Justin Rasmussen, and Ismaila Jome (who scored in the 74th minute of regulation) converted their spot kicks, won an extra point in the standings by taking out visiting North Texas 7-6 in the penalty-kick shootout.
