MLS: Wednesday Wins For Charlotte, Montreal, Herons; Timbers And Nashville Draw In Rose City

 Four games were on the Wednesday Major League Soccer schedule.


At Charlotte, North Carolina:


Steven Birnbaum (OG-13'), Karol Swiderski (64'), and Quinn McNeil (67') each scored once as Charlotte dominated visiting DC United 3-0.


At Columbus, Ohio:


That grizzled old timer Kei Kamara (88') and Joel Waterman (90'+4) each scored once in the final minutes as Montreal came back to upend the Columbus Crew 2-1 on the road.


At Portland, Oregon:


Santiago Moreno's equalizer in the 27th minute enabled the Portland Timbers to stretch their unbeaten streak to nine games after gaining a 1-1 home draw with Nashville.


Teal Bunbury scored for the Music City Men in the 20th minute.


At San Jose, California:


Jean Oliveira de Souza delivered all the scoring in the 12th minute as Inter Miami upended the homestanding San Jose Earthquakes 1-0.
