American Men To End 16-Year Absence From Olympics


At Morazan Stadium, San Pedro Sula, Honduras:


Paxten Aaronson (3'), Alejandro Alvarado, Jr. (22'), and Quinn Sullivan (43') each scored once in the first half on Friday as the United States' Under-20 squad dominated their Honduran counterparts 3-0 to advance to the final of the CONCACAF Under-23 Championship and qualified for their first Summer Olympic Games (2024 in Paris) in 16 years.


The Americans have already qualified for next year's Under-20 FIFA World Cup, set for Indonesia.


ChiSox Knock Off Giants On Road


At Oracle Park, San Francisco:


Leury Garcia delivered an RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning on Friday as the Chicago White Sox (36-39) knocked off the homestanding San Francisco Giants (40-35) 1-0.


Lance Lynn pitched six innings of shutout baseball as he and the pitching staff held the Giants to three base hits.
