NCAA Tourney:  One More Final Four For Coach K; Nova Punches Ticket For New Orleans As Well

Two teams clinched Final Four berths in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday.

At San Antonio, Jermaine Samuels scored 16 points and grabbed ten rebounds as the second-seeded Villanova Wildcats (30-7) assured themselves of their seventh Final Four appearance by holding off the fifth-seeded Houston Cougars (32-6) 50-44 in the South Regional final. 

In the West Regional final in San Francisco, A.J. Griffin scored 18 points as the second-seeded Duke Blue Devils (32-6) defeated the fourth-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks (28-9) 78-69 as Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski, set to retire at season's end if heading for his record 13th Final Four appearance.

T-Birds End Pilots Season In The Basketball Classic

At Cedar City, Utah, John Knight III scored 20 points as the Southern Utah Thunderbirds (23-11) held off the Portland Pilots (19-15) 77-66 on Saturday night to advance to the semifinal round of The Basketball Classic, ending the vastly-improved Pilots' season.

Tyler Robertson and Chris Austin topped Portland with 27 and 21 points respectively.

Rockets Deliver More Misery To Blazers In Portland

At Portland on Saturday, Alperen Sengun came off the bench to score 27 points and grab seven rebounds as the Houston Rockets (20-55) overpowered the still-undermanned Portland Trail Blazers (27-47) on the road for the second straight night, defeating them 115-98.

Jalen Green added 25 points to the Rockets' coffers.

Devils Fall To Caps In DC

Alex Ovechkin scored his 42nd goal of the season via the power play while Nicklas Backstrom added another goal and an assist on Saturday as the Washington Capitals knocked off the visiting New Jersey Devils 4-3 in action.

Linfield Top Warrenpoint Town On Road

In Saturday Northern Irish Premiership action, Ethan Devine's game winner at the death (90'+2) lifted league-leading Linfield to a 2-1 road victory over basement occupying (and relegation-threatened) Warrenpoint Town.
