TBC:  Pilots Dominate Privateers As Last Oregon Postseason Entry Advances


In Portland, Oregon on Saturday night, Kristian Sjolund hit a career-high six three-pointers as the Portland Pilots (19-14), Oregon's last remaining men's Division I basketball team still playing, dominated the visiting New Orleans Privateers (18-14) 94-73 in opening-round play in The Basketball Classic.


The victory was the Pilots' first-ever postseason victory.

'Was a big night for Jesus Ferrera as he delivered a first-half hat trick (26', 30', 36') enabled FC Dallas to dominate the visiting Portland Timbers 4-1 in Saturday Major League Soccer action.


European Soccer Roundup


In Saturday European soccer action, Robert Lewandowski scored twice (45'+1, 47') as German Bundesliga-leading Bayern Munich demolished visiting Union Berlin 4-0.  Meanwhile at Cagliari, Italy, Ismael Bennacer helped kept AC Milan at the top of the Italian Serie A standings as his goal in the 59th minute put the Rossoneri past relegation-threatened Cagliani Calcio 1-0.


At Glasgow, Scotlandd:


Giorgios Glakoumakis delivered a hat trick (11', 16', PK-61') as Celtic demolished visiting Ross County 4-0 to move to the top of the Scottish Premiership standings.
