UEFA Champions League, Group A: Tuesday Wins For Leipzig, PSG; It's The Europa League For German Club

 The final week of group-stage play in the UEFA Champions League commenced on Tuesday with eight games, two of them in Group A.


At Leipzig, Germany :


Andre Silva scored the winning goal in the 71st minute as RB Leipzig (who on Monday dismissed manager Jesse Marsch) defeated visiting Manchester City 2-1 and locked up a berth in the Europa League's knockout stage.  The CityZens had already locked top spot in Group A.


At Paris:


Kylian Mbappe (2', 7') and Lionel Messi (38', PK-76') each scored twice as Paris Saint-Germain, having locked up a berth in the Champions League's knockout stage, dominated visiting Club Brugge 4-1, ending the Belgian club's European campaign.


Final Group A Standings:


1. Manchester City (GP: 6; GD: +8; PTS: 12)

2. Paris Saint-Germain (GP: 6; GD: +5; PTS: 11)

3. RB Leipzig (GP: 6; GD: +1; PTS: 7)

4. Club Brugge (GP: 6; GD: -14; PTS: 4)


Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the Champions League's knockout stage; RB Leipzig was transferred to the Europa League .
