The opening round of the MLS Cup Playoff concluded on Tuesday with two games.
EASTERN CONFERENCE:
At Nashville, Tennessee:
Hany Mukhtar scored twice (21', 74') as Nashville defeated visiting Orlando City 3-1.
WESTERN CONFERENCE:
At Seattle:
After 120 scorless minutes, Aaron Herrera, Pablo Ruiz, Damir Kreilach, Bobby Wood, Marcelo Silva, and Justen Glad all converted their spot kicks as Real Salt Lake, who did not fire a single shot during regulation or overtime, upended the Seattle Sounders 6-5 on the road in the penalty-kick shootout to advance to the Western Conference semifinals.
RSL goalkeeper David Ochoa saved three shots during 120 minutes of action, then made the save on Kelyn Rowe in the shootout to set up Justen Glad's winner.
