MLS: Saturday Wins For CityZens, Quakes, Red Bulls, Crew, Hoops; Herons Eliminated From Playoff Contention

Six games are set to be contested on Saturday in Major League Soccer.


At Fort Lauderdale, Florida:


Valentin Castellanos scored twice (33', 60') and assisted once (on Talles Magno's 80th-minute tally) as New York City inched closer to claiming a playoff berth by holding off hosts Inter Miami 3-1, eliminating the Herons from playoff contention.


At Sandy, Utah:


Carlos Fierro (37'), Chris Wondolowski (45'+3), Cade Cowell (69'), and Jackson Yueill (79') each scored once as the San Jose Earthquakes knocked off Real Salt Lake 4-3 on the road.


At Harrison, New Jersey:


Fabio scored the only goal of the New York Red Bulls' 1-0 home victory over Montreal in the opening minute of second-half stoppage time.


At Atlanta:


Jordan Perruzza's late equalizer (88') lifted Toronto FC to a 1-1 road draw with Atlanta United.


Luiz Araujo scored in the 15th minute for the Five Stripes.


At Washington:


Lucas Zelarayan scored twice (PK-45', 76') as the Columbus Crew kept their playoff chances alive after knocking off DC United 3-1 on the road.


At Frisco, Texas:


Franco Jara scored the game winner in the 80th minute as FC Dallas defeated visiting Austin 2-1.
