 Two games were contested in Major League Soccer on Sunday.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Cristian Casseres, Jr. scored the lone goal of the contest in the third minute as the New York Red Bulls defeated visiting New York City 1-0 in the latest edition of the Hudson River Derby.

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Ryan Gauld (23') and Russell Teibert (36') each scored once as the Vancouver Whitecaps held off visiting Sporting Kansas City 2-1.
