Valentin Castellanos scored both goals (31', 55') in New York City's 2-0 shutout home victory over the conference and league-leading New England Revolution.
At Washington:
Yordy Reyna scored the game winner in the 49th minute as DC United held off the visiting Philadelphia Union 3-1.
At Houston:
Adrien Hunou scored twice (16', 73') as Minnesota United overcame an early deficit and knocked off the Houston Dynamo 2-1 on the road.
At Kansas City, Kansas:
Johnny Russell's 41st-minute equalizer lifted Sporting Kansas City to a 1-1 home draw with Colorado.
Jonathan Lewis tallied for the Rapids in the 17th minute.
