CONCACAF Gold Cup: El Salvador Advances To Quarterfinals; El Tri Too Much For Now-Eliminated Guatemala

 Two games were contested in Group A of the CONCACAF Gold Cup as the second cycle of group-stage games commenced.

At Toyota Stadium, Frisco, Texas:

Jairo Henriquez (30') and Walmer Martinez (90'+1) each scored once as El Salvador clinched a berth in the quarterfinal round (becoming the first country to do so) after blanking Trinidad and Tobago 2-0.

At the Cotton Bowl, Dallas:

Rogelio Funes Mori scored twice (29', 55') as Mexico dominated Guatemala 3-0 and knocked the Blue Fury out of  contention.
