CONCACAF Gold Cup: Qatar, El Tri Advance To Semifinals

 The quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Gold Cup opened on Saturday with two games, both contested at State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona:

Game #1:

Almoez Ali scored twice (2', PK-55') as Qatar raced out to a 3-0 lead, then held off El Salvador 3-2.

Game #2:

Rogelio Funes Mori (26'), Jonathan Dos Santos (31'), and Orbelin Pineda (38') each scored once in the first half as Mexico dominated Honduras 3-0.
