Stanley Cup Playoffs: Habs Complete Sweep Of Jets; Islanders Take 3-2 Series Lead Over Bruins

 The Stanley Cup Playoffs  continued on Monday with two games.


EAST DIVISION FINAL:


At Boston:


Matthew Barzai, Kyle Palmieri, and Jordan Eberle each scored a power-play goal as the New York Islanders knocked off the Boston Bruins 5-4 on the road in game five of their divisional final.


The Islanders, now up three games to two, can close out the series and advance to the semifinal series with a game-six win at Uniondale, Long Island on Wednesday (4:30 PM Pacific Time, NBCSN).



NORTH DIVISION FINAL:


At Montreal:


Tyler Toffoli scored the game-winning goal at 99 seconds of overtime as the Montreal Canadiens completed a four-games series sweep of the Winnipeg Jets with a 3-2 game-four home victory.


The Canadiens have advanced to the semifinal round for the first time since 2014 and will try to reach their first final since 1993, when they last won the Stanley Cup (the last time a Canadian club did so).
