The second round of CONCACAF-regional qualifying for next year's FIFA World Cup concluded on Tuesday with three games.
At Willemstad, Curacao:
A 0-0 road stalemate with Curacao was more than good enough for Panama as the Canal Men ousted the islanders 2-1 on aggregate.
At Bridgeview, Illinois:
Josue Duverger (OG-46'), Cyle Larin (74'), and David Hoilett (89') each scored once as Canada dominated Haiti 3-0 in game two and won their series 4-0 on aggregate and advanced to the final qualifying round for the first time since 1997 (they're seeking to reach the World Cup Finals for the first time since 1986).
At San Salvador, El Salvador:
Joshua Perez (24') and Gerson Mayen (81') each scored once as El Salvador blanked visiting Saint Kitts and Nevis 2-0 in game two and finished off the Sugar Boyz 6-0 on aggregate.
The Octagonal round of CONCACAF-regional qualifying is set to open on September 2.
Canada, El Salvador, and Panama will be joining the United States, Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Jamaica in the final round (playing 14 games apiece) with the top three finishers qualifying directly for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the fourth-placed finisher taking part in a two-match home-and-away playoff against a team from another confederation.
