At Los Angeles:
Corey Baird (61') and Jose Cifuentes (90'+1) each scored once as the Los Angeles Football Club overcame the erroneous substituting of Carlos Vela and spoiled visiting Austin FC's inaugural match 2-0 at home.
At Washington:
Brendan Hynes-Ike (39') and Russell Canouse (44') each scored once as DC United knocked off visiting New York City 2-1.
At Frisco, Texas:
FC Dallas and the visiting Colorado Rapids battled to a season-opening 0-0 deadlock.
At Harrison, New Jersey:
Gadi Kinda (PK-59') and Daniel Salloi (60') each scored a goal a minute apart as Sporting Kansas City came from behind to upend the New York Red Bulls 2-1 on the road.
At Chicago:
Adam Buksa (14') and Gustavo Bou (27') each scored once as the New England Revolution came back from two goals down to gain a 2-2 road draw with the Chicago Fire.
Robert Beric (5') and Luka Stojanovic (11') each scored once for the Fire.
At Nashville, Tennessee:
Jhonder Cadiz (20') and Randall Leal (64') each scored once as Nashville SC came back from two goals down to gain a 2-2 home draw with FC Cincinnati.
Luciano Acosta (8') and Brenner (12') each scored once for the guests.
