CONCACAF Champions League: Timbers, Crew Settle For Series-Opening Home Draws

The quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Champions League reached its' midway point on Wednesday with two games. 


At Columbus, Ohio:


Ake Lobo (9') and Jose Alvarado (90'+3) each scored once to help lead Monterrey to a series-opening 2-2 road draw with Columbus.

Milton Valenzuela (66') and Lucas Zelarayan (87') each scored once for the Crew.



At Portland, Oregon:


Felipe Mora converted a penalty kick for the tying goal in what was the final kick of the game (PK-90'+7) to lift the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 series-opening home draw with Club America.


Roger Martinez converted a penalty-kick for the seven-time CONCACAF club champions during first-half stoppage time (PK-45'+1).
