The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Round of 64 commenced on Friday with 16 games (all played in Indiana), eight of them in the South Region.
At Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indianapolis:
Colin Castleton scored 19 points and pull down 14 rebounds as the shorthanded seventh-seeded Florida Gators (15-9) upended the tenth-seeded Virginia Tech Hokies (15-7) 75-70 in overtime.
Nahiem Alleyne topped the Hokies with 28 points
At Mackey Arena, West Lafayette:
Game #1
Kevin Obanor scored 30 points (while grabbing 11 rebounds) while Max Abmas added 29 as the fifteenth-seeded Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (17-10) stunned the second-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (21-10) 75-72 in overtime.
It was the Golden Eagles' first NCAA Tourney victory since 1974.
E.J. Liddell topped the Buckeyes with 23 points while pulling down 14 boards.
Game #2:
Brad Davison scored 29 points while Dmitrik Trice added 21 as the ninth-seeded Wisconsin Badgers (18-12) dominated the ninth-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels (18-11) 85-62.
At Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis:
Game #1:
Macio Teague scored 22 points as the top-seeded Baylor Bears (23-2) overpowered the Hartford Hawks (15-9), making short work of the sixteenth-seeded debutantes 79-55.
Game #2:
Javion Hamlet scored 24 points and pulled in 12 rebounds as the #13-seeded North Texas Mean Green (18-9) knocked off the fourth-seeded Purdue Boilermakers (18-10) 78-69 in overtime.
At Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, Bloomington:
Mac McClung scored 16 points as the #6-seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders (18-10) used a balanced attack to down the 11th-seeded Utah State Aggies (20-9) 65-53.
Four Red Raiders scored in double figures.
At Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indinapolis:
Justin Smith scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the third-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks (23-6) brushed off the 14th-seeded Colgate Raiders (14-2) 85-68.
At The Indiana Farmers Coliseum, Indianapolis:
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl scored 22 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished out six assists to carry the fifth-seeded Villanova Wildcats (17-6) past the eleventh-seeded Winthrop Eagles (23-2) 73-63.
