Here's the front cover of the program for the New York Bulldogs' September 22, 1949 home game at New York's Polo Grounds against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Bulldogs had played as the Boston Yanks from 1944 to 1948 (saved for the 1945 season when they were merged with the Brooklyn Tigers under the name of The Yanks).
It was the Bulldogs first regular-season game of 1949 and they lost to the Eagles (who would go on to win their second straight National Football League championship) by a score of 7-0.
The Bulldogs would win one game and tie one other and lose ten games in '49.
The Bulldogs would be renamed the New York Yanks in 1950.
