Hank Aaron, the baseball Hall of Famer who broke Babe Ruth's career home run record with his 715th round-tripper in one of his many highlights, passed away on Friday at age 86.
Mr. Aaron, who went on to hit 755 homers in a 23-year career with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers, hit .305, collected 3,771 hits, scored 2,174 runs, and stole 240 bases.
The National League's 1957 Most Valuable Player, who helped lead the Milwaukee Braves to that year's World Series championship, also won three Golden Gloves and two National League batting titles.
It was on April 8, 1974, at Atlanta's Fulton County Stadium, that Hammerin' Hank broke the Bambino's record with his 715th home run against the Los Angeles Dodgers, against pitch Al Dowling.
