LAST-MINUTE HEROICS SEAL FIRST COPA LIBERTADORES CROWN SINCE 1999 FOR PALMEIRAS

Breno Lopes scored the only goal of the match in the ninth minute of second-half stoppage time on Saturday as Palmeiras defeated Santos 1-0 in an all-Brazilian Copa Libertadores final that saw the club from Sao Paulo win their second continental club crown---their first since 1999.


With the victory the Big Green have qualified for the 2020 FIFA World Cup, set to take place beginning this coming Thursday in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
