TIDE ROLL OVER BUCKEYES FOR NATIONAL GRIDIRON COLLEGIATE CROWN

Quarterback Mac Jones threw for 464 yards (completing 36 of 45 passes in the process) and five touchdowns---three of them in the second quarter to Heisman Trophy-winning wide receiver DaVonta Smith (who caught 15 passes for 215 yards before exiting the game in the third quarter with a hand injury)---as the top-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide (13-0) won their sixth national championship in the last 12 years under head coach Nick Saban (who has now won seven titles overall) by throttling the third-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes (7-1) 52-24 on Monday night.
