CFP: 'Bama, Clemson, Buckeyes, Fighting Irish Reach Playoff; Ducks Finish At #25, Will Take On Cyclones In Fiesta Bowl

 Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and Notre Dame captured the College Football Playoff's four spots according to the final CFP rankings released on Sunday.


Texas A&M and Oklahoma took the fifth and sixth positions.


Southern California (#17) and Oregon (#25) were the lone Pac-12 schools ranked.


The playoff games:


NATIONAL SEMIFINALS (Both telecast on ESPN):


New Year's Day (Friday, January 1):


Rose Bowl (to be played at Arlington, Texas instead of Pasadena, California due to that state's COVID-19 restrictions):


(1) Alabama vs. (4) Notre Dame, 2:00 PM  Pacific Time


Sugar Bowl (at New Orleans):


(2) Clemson vs. (3) Ohio State, 5:45 PM Pacific Time


The semifinal winners will face off in the National Championship Game, set for Monday, January 11 at Miami (5:00 PM Pacific Time, ESPN).


As for the Ducks, by knocking off Southern California in Friday Pac-12 title game, gained a spot in the New Year's Six; they will play in the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday, January 2 against Iowa State at Glendale, Arizona (1:00 PM Pacific Time, ESPN).
